The Southern Observatory for Human Rights issues its monthly report describing it by the aggravating growing violations of the Yemeni regime by bombing populated cities

The Southern Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) expressed its concern about exposing the towns and villages of Radfan districts to frequent attacks perpetrated by the armed forces of the Yemeni authorities throughout the month of January.

The periodic report of the Southern Observatory for the month of January, issued on February 7, indicated that the situation of human rights and public freedoms in the south of Yemen have suffered increasing violations, many times than the previous month, and during which many citizens were exposed to persecution and abuse.

In a statistic included in the report, the Southern Observatory was able to document during the month of January 2011 ten cases of extrajudicial killings; up by seven cases than the previous month, 84 cases of attempted murder led to offensive injuries; which is up by 69 cases from the previous month, in addition to 245 arrests of activists of the peaceful Southern Movement; up by 165 cases from the previous month, as well as destroying and damaging 53 houses and 7 public and private facilities.

The Southern Observatory has made it clear that all these persecutions will remain in account, so that the perpetrators receive sentences of law, and will continue under the consideration of the international community as live examples of what happens to the citizens of the south by the forces of murder and wanton destruction.
